CRPA Hall of Fame

The CRPA Hall of Fame provides recognition for professionals and special individuals who have made outstanding, unique, lasting, and extraordinary contributions through recreation and park services in Connecticut.

Victor Joseph Jarm

 

Professional Experience

  • 40-year career in the parks and recreation field
  • City Forester, Parks Superintendent, and Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Hartford
  • Established the Bushnell Park Foundation and Friends of Elizabeth Park
  • Visiting lecturer, University of Massachusetts
  • Started major national concerts in Hartford’s Dillon Stadium and Pope Park

  • President, Connecticut Tree Protective Association
  • Author of several articles for the New England Park newsletter
  • Taskforce member, 1978 Urban Park and Recreation Recovery Act

  • 2008 Forest Heights Park playground named “Victor Jarm Playground” in his honor (Hartford, CT)

Ernest O. St. Jacques
